OUR STORY

THE IMPETUS FOR DEVELOPMENT

Many women have experienced menstrual leakage at some point in their lives.

Inspired by our founder’s personal journey, our protective overpants were created to address this challenge.

After being diagnosed with uterine fibroids during a routine gynaecological examination, her menstrual bleeding gradually became much heavier, eventually leading to severe leakage that sometimes required changing her bedsheets up to three times in a single night.

THE REALITY FACED BY MANY WOMEN

On average, women experience menstruation for around 35 to 40 years. Menstrual flow volume varies greatly from person to person, and uterine fibroids, which cause heavy menstruation, are a condition that affects many women.

In fact, statistics show that approximately 70% of women will develop uterine fibroids by the age of 45.

Despite so many women experiencing anxiety about leakage, products that truly prevent leakage remain insufficient.

YOUR FINAL LAYER OF PROTECTION

Many women struggle with menstrual pain and heavy flow. We created this product to help ease those challenges and provide greater peace of mind.

Inspired by real-life experience, it is thoughtfully designed with leak-proof features that let you move freely and confidently throughout your day.

We hope this product becomes your last line of defense, empowering you to live comfortably and be yourself.

TSUKIYOMI is…🌙

TSUKIYOMI (月読み) literally translates to “Reading the Moon.”

TSUKI (月) = Moon

YOMI (読み) = Reading

In Japanese, 月 (tsuki) means both “moon” and “month,” reflecting the long-standing connection between time and the lunar cycle.
The word for menstruation, 月経 (gekkei), also contains the character for “moon,” symbolizing the close relationship between the moon and the female cycle.

This connection can be found in many languages. In English, “moon” and “month” are etymologically related and both trace back to the lunar cycle.
The Latin mensis (“month”) is also derived from the moon’s cycle and is the root of “menstruation” in English, “mensuel” in French, and “Menstruation” in German.

“Reading the moon” means following the lunar cycle and living in harmony with its changes. Across cultures, menstruation has long been associated with this natural rhythm.

The name TSUKIYOMI reflects a wish for women in harmony with the moon’s rhythm to care for themselves with kindness and move through life with calm and grace.
